## Description

CookieJar is a lightweight cookie consent banner with GDPR/CCPA compliance tools:

 * Accessible banner with Accept, Reject, and Preferences
 * Categories: Necessary, Functional, Analytics, Advertising
 * Optional Do Not Sell (CPRA) when applicable
 * GA4 Consent Mode v2 signal updates (optional)
 * Consent logging in the WordPress database (cached mode)
 * Multilanguage support (this edition: up to 2 languages)
 * Category-based blocking for scripts tagged with data-cookiejar-category

This package is distributed by DemeWebSolutions.com. Advanced compliance regimes(
LGPD/POPIA), extended geo-targeting, live logging, and the consent REST API are 
available in CookieJar Pro and CookieJar Enterprise.

### Asset Licensing

 * All plugin code is licensed as stated in the header of this readme.
 * All bundled images, SVGs, and icons in `assets/` are original works by DemeWebSolutions.
   com (My Deme, LLC).
 * No remote CDNs are used; all assets load locally.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `cookiejar` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
 3. Go to Admin – CookieJar – Control Panel to configure settings.

## FAQ

### Does this block scripts automatically?

CookieJar applies category-based consent and blocks tagged scripts (data-cookiejar-
category) when the matching category is not consented. Scripts without the tag are
not modified.

### How are consents stored?

Consent logs are stored in the WordPress database in cached mode. Retention is capped
by the logging settings.

### How many languages are supported?

Up to two languages in this edition. CookieJar Pro and CookieJar Enterprise remove
this cap.

### Does this package auto-update?

Updates are delivered through the standard WordPress.org plugin update mechanism.
