This “Title like Alt” plugin works very well to have tooltips (from added “title” HTML attribute) for those images that use the “alt” HTML attribute. WordPress’ Media Library allows to import images and their “alt” attribute via its user interface, or for example via WP-CLI’s “wp media import” command line. However, Media Library’s “title” is initially just a copy of the filename without extension, and it’s not the “title” HTML attribute, which is not used by Media Library. “Title like Alt” solves it, when adding images from the Media Library to posts, etc., by inserting then a copy of the text of the “alt” attribute, if any, into the “title” attribute, enabling in this way informative tooltips. This works automatically for all images added from the Media Library to posts, etc. after enabling the plugin. Also for older images if they are deleted just from the post (not from the Media Library) with the WordPress visual editor -for example with the backspace key- and added again with the “Add Media” button of the editor. If we want “alt” (accessibility) attribute but not “title” (tooltip) attribute for some of the images, we can just deactivate the plugin when adding them from the Media Library into posts, etc. The plugin is needed for new “title” attributes only at that moment, and the attributes don’t change later even with the plugin deactivated, as said unless the images are deleted from the post and added again. Also, apart from the automatic way of the plugin, there is a manual way in the post visual editor (but not currently in the media library), by clicking on the image, then on the edit icon (pencil) that appears, and then writing in the “Image Title Attribute” field. Thank you very much for this excellent plugin.
